Emma Krass

Lead Grant Writer and Founder

After graduating with her Master's in Social Work, Emma began working as a freelance grant writer to leverage her writing and research skills, and knowledge of human rights frameworks to support non-profits activated around social justice through the arts and community organizing.

In 2023, she founded grants & growth in order to dedicate more time to each individual client and focus intentionally on each non-profit's journey towards growth and stability. Emma has helped non-profits in the arts and culture and social change realm grow their budgets and find more time to focus on their communities' needs! Since 2021, Emma has raised over $5 million for non-profits with budgets under $750,000.

Outside of grants & growth, Emma enjoys playing with her three cats, watching the NBA and WNBA, making films, and organizing against the war machine and for tenants rights in her community.

Sumaira Mian is a fundraising strategist, grant-writing consultant, and macro social worker dedicated to advancing social justice through an anti-oppression, community-centric approach to fundraising. 
She approaches grant writing as a strategic systems challenge, not simply a writing exercise. She works to understand an organization's strengths, the landscape of potential funding partners, and where meaningful connections exist between a mission and available resources. From there, she develops cases for support that reflect an organization's mission, values, and impact. At its core, this work is about building authentic relationships, shifting power, and connecting resources with communities in ways that honor their expertise.

Sumaira brings over ten years of experience across grant writing, prospect research, individual giving, donor engagement, and fundraising strategy. 

Sumaira holds a B.A. in Biology and Religious Studies from Stony Brook University and an M.S.W. from Columbia University. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, contemplative walks, zen writing, gardening, and exploring new places.

Anza is a grants management and systems strategist based between California and France. While many people focus on writing grants, Anza builds everything that makes funding possible: the systems, workflows, reporting, databases, and operational infrastructure that keep organizations moving long after an award is received.

Over the past six years, Anza has helped organizations successfully manage more than $1 million in grant funding, creating the systems and processes that turn awards into impact. Their work spans grant management, operational systems, accessibility, and reporting, always with an eye toward making funding more accessible and sustainable. 

When they're away from their laptop, you'll likely find them exploring the world on foot, planning their next snack, or curled up with a good book and a furry companion.
